WHAT IS COLOR THERAPY and HOW DOES IT WORK?

Light is life, and light is color. Color can bring us joy and healing when we need it, because each color of the spectrum possesses unique healing properties, visible and invisible. The healing energy of light enters our body through our eyes and through our skin where the endocrine system responds chemically.

Color therapy is very relaxing affecting both the body and the unconscious habit-creating mind. At Sacred Rays our non-invasive color therapy consists of light showers, colorpuncture, and silk clothes which are combined with breathing exercises and guided visualization to promote well-being and anchor the healing benefits.

WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY and HOW DOES IT WORK?

Reflexology is the study of what directs back through the body upon stimulation of certain zones and points believed to mirror the body. There are many theories why Reflexology works. We look at the nervous system as the explanation of effectiveness.

Applied pressure generates a signal through the peripheral nervous system where it continues to the central nervous system and is processed in various parts of the brain. The signal is then relayed to internal organs to allocate necessary adjustments in fuel and oxygen, and finally sent onto the motor system adjusting the body's tone or overall tension level.

By applying proper technique, a reflexologist encourages relaxation and essentially 'resets' the body to a lower operating tempo. Relaxation and a lower operating tempo means less stress, healing, and rejuvanation of body, mind, and spirit.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM A SESSION?

Sessions are customized to your particular needs and generally last from 45 minutes to an hour. After a brief consultation, clients usually relax by lying on a therapy table. Only removal of shoes and socks is required, but some massage may be added as part of an overall session. Repositioning or removal of additional clothing may be necessary wherein gowns are provided.

Again depending on your needs and drawing upon our extensive experience, various therapies including light tonation and therapeutic touch are combined to wholistically support you. Most clients feel calm and rejuvanated at the end of a session, reporting profound and deep relaxation. Use Color Therapy and Reflexology to enhance your spirit, improve your health, and quite ultimately, expand your consciousness.

I'VE HEARD REFLEXOLOGY IS PAINFUL. IS THAT TRUE?

No. Reflexology doesn't have to be painful to be effective. Too much pressure can actually be harmful and could lead to injury. We respect your comfort level and personal preference is something you should communicate with your therapist.

IS COLOR THERAPY and REFLEXOLOGY SAFE?

Yes. Sacred Rays utilizes safe practices as outlined by the Reflexology Association of America and the International Association of Color.
